Meet Lindell 48

"We believe that to build a serious liveaboard, we need to be serious about the practical application of our design choices."

The Lindell 48' - our largest and most ambitious pilothouse sportfishing yacht yet, and our first designed with one question in mind: can we design a Lindell that will run 1,000 miles on one tank of fuel? Can we build a boat that allows anglers and adventurers alike to go great distances, pushing to places that were never in reach before, while truly living aboard the Lindell 48'? The answer is yes.

It All Starts With the Hull

100%
Lindel 48 floating in the water

Through a combination of efficiency, strength, and size management, we have built a 48' foot liveaboard sport fishing yacht that can reach 1,000 miles without stopping for fuel. It all starts with the hull. The 48', like all our vessels, is made with Vinylester resin vacuum-infused proprietary sandwich core, allowing us to create more strength in the hull with less weight than conventional wet-laid hulls. The vacuum-infused core isn't our material just for the hull, but for the entire structure of the yacht. The next step is to use those weight savings to create a more efficient vessel.

Power, Fuel, and Efficiency

The Lindell 48' hull, in its standard configuration, is powered by twin Volvo Penta D8 IPS 800 diesel engines and stores 1300 gallons of fuel in its tanks. The 48’ was designed with power-preference in mind, and can also be configured with triple Volvo Penta DPI 480’s, or Quad Outboards such as the Mercury 600’s or Yamaha 450’s. This combination of weight savings, engine, and fuel tankage gives us the ability to reach the aspired 1,000 miles of range, and also to satisfy our final goal: to make a comfortable and luxurious liveaboard sportfishing yacht.

Comfort and Capability

100%
Bow Berth on the Lindell 48

The Lindell 48' has even more space in the cockpit, pilothouse, berths, and holds for all the comforts that make living aboard possible. The Lindell 48' has a larger aft berth running wall to wall below the pilothouse that allows you to stand upright, and comes configured with 4 bunks and substantial storage for clothes and personal items. The 48’ is the first Lindell to have two heads and showers. The master head and fully-enclosed shower is through the master stateroom on the starboard side, giving privacy and separation. The portside head and shower are easily accessible for all crew at the bottom of the staircase.

The pilothouse salon and galley of the Lindell 48

In the signature forward-rake pilothouse, a large wraparound salon and longer galley counter provides ample room to seat and feed your large crew. When your crew is larger than the bunks and master stateroom can accommodate, the salon table is easily convertible to an additional bed, using the powered table mount and seating cushions. Throughout the 48’, you will find every space optimized for use, storage, and thus a comfortable liveaboard experience.

Fishability

100%

The comfort and capability of the Lindell 48’ continues in its fishability. From the navionics to the rigging and prep station center-deck that gives you a comfortable workspace to the motorized rain and sun shade that extends from the hardtop, everything about the Lindell 48’ is optimized for taking full advantage of your time on the water. The new swimstep has been designed to double as a fish hold with controlled water flow, allowing for quick fish bleeding while the bite is hot, and there’s even an option for two freezers in the fish hold for true liveaboard capacity. These features are a brief mention of the numerous fishing-centric designs that have gone into the Lindell 48. Once you arrive on the fishing grounds, a full 17.5 feet of deck, including the swimstep, means everyone can get in on the action.

Systems and Control

100%

While systems are not near as exciting as beautiful carpentry for many, they are an essential part of making a liveaboard sportfishing yacht. We go to great lengths to make these vessels maintainable and rugged. We utilize a sea chest for raw water to give easier access to changing water filters. Control of electronics are done with digital switching, and there is now a dedicated panel next to the pilot seat so that additional crew can access and control systems while the captain focuses on the seas ahead.

100%
Stand-up utility room electronics aft of the mid-berth in the Lindell 48

Our electronics are easily accessible, for example below the starboard side aft berth bunk or in the snap-in panels. In the belly of the 48’ is a new stand-up utility room that gives immediate access to essential systems such as a breaker panel, batteries, visibility to fuel tank capacity, and more. The hatch above the generator can be removed with the davit for more serious maintenance needs and access. For those who have had other brand vessels, you’ll find that our labeling and lighting of maintenance and control spaces is second to none. We believe that to build a serious liveaboard, we need to be serious about the practical application of our design choices.

Luxury

100%
Wood work and carpentry aboard the Lindell 48'

Last but certainly not least, you will find the fit and finish of the Lindell 48’ to be stately and luxurious. The beautiful wood work is all done by our own carpentry team with the customer’s personalized touch, bespoke custom upholstery, windows above and below deck that allow natural light to fill all spaces, and warm accent lighting that is reminiscent of your favorite reading spot at home.

100%

Heating and air conditioning is controllable by separate spaces, and airflow throughout the cabins and pilothouse keeps it fresh and dry. Coming inside the pilothouse of the 48’ dampens an immense amount of sound from the engines and generator, and creates a cozy atmosphere even while underway.
