Lindell 42

The Lindell 42

"The classic Lindell that built much of our fishing yacht reputation, the staple for performance as you roam the seas in pursuit of adventure."

The Lindell 42’ is slightly lengthier and beamier than the Lindell 41’, and is built to fully utilize the Volvo Penta IPS engines. The 42’ bridges the gap between the agility of the 41’ and the liveaboard luxury of the 48’, and uses the efficiency of the Volvo Penta diesel engines to their fullest for easy docking, trolling, and adventure, extended cruising and intuitive fishing.

A Classic Lindell Hull

100%
The Lindell 42' glowing in the sun with the mountains near La Conner Washington behind it

With a beam of 13’ 5” and molded length of 42’ 11”, the 42’ has a wider beam and longer molded length than the 41’. The 42’ has a 16 degree deadrise compared to the 20 degree deadrise of the 41’, with a strong and stable feel under foot. Every Lindell 42' is constructed with the same vacuum-infused proprietary sandwich core with vinylester resin as the rest of the Lindell fleet, delivering superior strength, impact tolerance, and weight savings compared to wet-laid or cold-molded alternatives. This core technology runs through the entire structure, creating a lighter, more efficient yacht that still feels incredibly solid in offshore conditions.

Power, Fuel and Efficiency

100%

Designed around twin Volvo Penta IPS drives, the 42' offers a refined inboard experience with excellent maneuverability and fuel efficiency. The 42’ standard engine configuration is twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS 650’s. Fuel capacity reaches up to 700 gallons, supporting strong range at efficient cruising speeds around 30 mph. The base boat dry weight of 25,000 pounds means you go farther on every gallon while enjoying the torque and reliability diesel power provides for long expeditions.

Comfort and Capability

100%

With its increased beam (13'5") and molded length, the 42' provides generous interior volume. Two cabins can be configured with queens or a combination of queen master plus bunks, a full galley, enclosed pilothouse, and convertible salon table comfortably sleeps up to six or seven. The extra space enhances liveaboard living, with better storage, headroom, and separation for crew or family.

Fishability

100%
The cockpit of the Lindell 42 with side access doors visible

The 42' carries forward Lindell’s legendary fishability with a large cockpit that is 12’ 9” in length, and even longer if you include the swimstep and baitwell. The serious sportsman design goes beyond the size of the deck, with in-deck holds great for storing fish on ice or scuba gear, on-deck power for potpullers, gyrostablization to keep you sure-footed while gaffing a big catch, livewells, and even stainless steel bow fishing rails that allow you to enjoy the full length of the boat. The hardtop supports a dinghy and crane, and the overall platform is optimized for real adventure, from kayaks and paddleboards to scuba diving and salmon fishing.

Systems and Control

100%

We pay close attention to the practical side to make sure the use of the boat is seamless, and the focus is on fun. Beyond full utilization of the Volvo Penta IPS systems and integration with your navionics dashboard, we are always seeking how to make our systems reliable, intuitive, and easy to manage: digital switching of electrical, very accessible panels, a sea chest for raw water, and well-organized and well-lit utility spaces to make maintenance straightforward. Volvo IPS integration adds joystick docking ease and precise control.

Luxury

100%

The fit and finish is pure Lindell and tailored to you: custom woodwork, bespoke upholstery, abundant natural light, a spacious salon, and independently controlled heating and air conditioning throughout. The forward-rake pilothouse creates a quiet, cozy refuge with great visibility of the outdoors, letting you enjoy your Lindell no matter the weather or time of year.

The Lindell 42' delivers diesel-powered refinement and capability in a classic Pacific Northwest pilothouse package that’s equally at home on multi-day expeditions or weekend adventures.
